June

Ucluelet has the hottest fishing in June anywhere on the coast. Fishing is gang busters for both chinook and halibut. Limits of chinook and halibut are normal. The success rate for halibut limits over the past few years are an unbelievable 100%, weather permitting.

Chinook average between 10 and 25 pounds with a few in the 30 to 40 pound range. Salmon fishing is done both offshore and inshore depending upon where the greatest quality and numbers of fish are located. Halibut numbers are peaking out on the offshore banks, with double, triple and even quadruple headers being common at times. Most of these halibut are considered “chickens” and average between 20 to 40 pounds.

If you are looking for arm busting action, June is the time for you. Limits are 2 chinook and 2 halibut per person a day, with a 2 day possession of 4 chinook and 3 halibut.
